A Note about “Ellis Creek Finished” Meat

This week we have some meat from animals that were bought from another farm, so to clearly identify that we have labelled those packs as “Ellis Creek Finished”. This meat is from 2 beautiful lowline angus animals from Puramahoi farm. They have been grazing with our finishing mob for the last month to settle them before finally reaching our farm abattoir.

Puramahoi Farm has always had a focus on low impact environmentally friendly farming practices, low stocking rates, grass fed and minimal drench. They do use minimal spot spraying for gorse and thistles so for this reason these packs are not “spray free”.

The meat is tender, flavourful with extra fat on some cuts.

For those who prefer totally spray-free meat raised on Ellis Creek Farm we still have some cuts of meat from animals that have been raised on our farm including the rib eye, rump, and porterhouse.

Instructions

Choose a selection of meat and produce to make up your own order with your favourites. Use the Filters to narrow down the range of items displayed.

Packet sizes are rounded to the nearest 100g (or 50g for packs less than 300g).  Remember to click on “Add to cart” each time you select a packet weight. If you want more than one packet, you need to add them one at a time. 

After you have chosen your selected cuts, go to your “shopping cart” by clicking on the “View Cart” button or icon (near the top right or bottom right of the page). You can then proceed to the “Checkout” where you can enter your address details, then select a delivery or pickup option, and finally complete your order. We have several payment options, including credit card or payment from your bank account using POLi or internet bank transfer. Please contact us for help if you have any problems.

Note that we have limited stock of certain cuts (we only process a few animals each week, and there only so many fillets in each animal!).

We send out an email each week when the webshop is updated with fresh stock – please subscribe below if you haven’t already!

Weekly Deliveries and Pickups

We send orders on a weekly schedule anywhere in the Nelson region and by overnight courier to any non-rural address elsewhere in New Zealand. See here for more info on order shipping.

Free pickup is available at the Saturday market in Takaka, also at the Nelson Farmer’s Market on Wednesday morning and the Motueka Sunday Market. You can select these on the checkout page.

We now also can provide pickup in Richmond – at the Craftsman Cafe, Bateup Rd, on Wednesday 9:30am-2pm.

Please order before mid-day the previous day so that we can get your meat packed and ready!

Markets

In Golden Bay we are at the Village Market which runs on Saturday mornings during the summer months (October to April) with a selection of chilled and frozen meats and free range eggs (also avocados and other produce in season).

In Nelson we are at the Nelson Farmers Market on Halifax Street next to the library each Wednesday from 8:30am-1pm.

We are also now at the Motueka Sunday Market at Decks Reserve Carpark, Port Motueka each Sunday 9am-12:30.
